Inventory Features

Below are some features available through Decision Logic’s Inventory Home page.

Getting Started

The following sections will provide quick, step-by-step instructions on various tasks within the Inventory feature. Feel free to skip to the section that pertains the most to you!

Begin New Inventory

Follow these to begin entering a new inventory. As a gentle reminder, your business will determine the frequency store should count inventory.

  1. Navigate to Operations > Inventory > Inventory Home.

    1. The main page displays the Dates inventory needs counting, the Status, when it was Started and by whom, plus when inventory was Posted, and by whom.

  2. There are two navigational options to begin a new inventory on the Home page.

    1. Click Start next to the inventory with the pre-populated date from the table.

    2. Click Enter Inventory in the top right corner. This adds a new inventory list from scratch. With this option, you can select either “Regular Inventory” or “Hot Inventory”.

      1. The Enter Inventory button will show any un-received orders that will affect IvA or Cost of Goods reports if they are not received before inventory is posted.

If an inventory has started but not posted, you will see a status of In Process and the Enter button will show for that particular inventory. You are able to input additional counts if the status is In Process.

Add Inventory Counts

Once you have started a new inventory count either from scratch, a pre-populated date, or in progress, you will follow these steps below.

  1. Enter the count for the item with the Quantity field. Use the tab key to move to the next item.

  2. Switch iInventory Locations by clicking on the appropriate location listed on the left panel. Each location will show the total of items counted vs. the total items available.

  3. Once you have entered the item counts, click Review. You will be asked to review any counts that are over 1000 and any items that break the configured variance threshold. By default, the threshold is more than +10% variance and more than -10% negative variance.

  4. Click Post Inventory if everything looks correct.
