How do I sort my Inventory Guide from sheet to shelf, edit ingredients, copy inventory guides, & print them?

This article provides information and steps on how to sort your inventory order guide from sheet to shelf, edit ingredients, copy inventory guides, and print guides.

Overview

Inventory is a complete list of all the items or raw materials required to prepare dishes, including food, spices, paper items, cleaning supplies, linens, merchandise, liquor, beverages, etc.  Counting inventory helps track ingredients coming in and out of your restaurant.

The brand or franchisee determines the inventory cycle.  For example, weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, etc.

Sheet to shelf is when you sort your inventory guide to reflect your store’s layout.  Sorting your guide will help you quickly find items when counting inventory.

You can drag and drop items into locations, sort the location order, and sort items within each location.  You can also print your inventory guide(s) and copy a guide setup from one store to another. For example, brands may copy a guide when opening a new store with a similar or exact layout from an existing store.

Decision Logic recommends sorting your inventory guide(s) before counting inventory.  This will make the counting process faster with less room for errors.

Copy Guide Setup

The inventory guide has all items in the unassigned location when opening a new store.  If the new store has a similar layout to an existing store, users can copy an inventory guide from a current store to the new store.  The copied guide will sort items within each location.

Decision Logic encourages users to review the copied guide to ensure no additional changes are needed.

Copying an existing order guide to a new store saves time building an inventory guide.  Follow the steps below to copy an inventory guide from one store to another quickly.
