How do I map the Menu Item Hierarchy for unmapped pathways?

This article shows DL Admins who have Menu Item Hierarchy enabled with a support Point of Sale how to map the unmapped pathways in Decision Logic.

Overview

The Menu Item Hierarchy feature is located within the Menu Maintenance page on Decision Logic’s web-based platform. This feature maps the pathways employees take when entering menu items on the Point of Sale (POS) when they are unmapped in Decision Logic. This ensures that inventory is depleted accurately, resulting in more accurate reporting to better manage operations.

 

The Point of Sale(s) that have the menu item hierarchy enabled and integrated with Decision Logic is:

  • Qu

 

Map Pathway

Begin by navigating:

Maintenance > Product > Menu Maintenance

 

  1. Click the Menu Sets tab.

  2. Select an enabled hierarchy Menu Set.

  3. Click Manage Hierarchy.

  4. Click the Unmapped Paths tab. This should be the default landing tab.

  5. Click on a POS Item.

  6. Click + New Mapping.

  7. Search and select the Decision Logic Menu Item.

    1. The Decision Logic Menu Item name may also appear on the Mapped Items tab.

  8. Click Done.

  9. Click Add to build selection paths that lead to that menu item.

    1. Users can scroll down this page to see Relevant Routes that the item may pertain to, Search for for a route, and filter by Status.

  10. Users can click the Quick Map button within the Action column to map that individual pathway.

    1. If multiple pathways need to be mapped for that item, users will begin to build a customized Pathway, ending with the Menu Item they want to map.

    2. Click Generate.

    3. Click Save to map the item to the pathway. This will map all pathways populated and/or override any previous mapping. It’s important to verify that the pathways are correct for the chosen menu item.

  11. Click Done.

Edit Pathway

Begin by navigating:

Maintenance > Product > Menu Maintenance

 

  1. Click the Menu Sets tab.

  2. Select an enabled hierarchy Menu Set.

  3. Click Manage Hierarchy.

  4. Click the Mapped Items tab.

  5. Click the 3-Dot Menu next to the pathway that needs to be edited.

  6. Click View.

  7. Hover over the Pathway.

  8. Click Edit.

  9. Edi the Pathway.

  10. Click Generate.

Delete Pathway

Deleting a pathway will unmap the pathway and not delete it from the system.

Begin by navigating:

Maintenance > Product > Menu Maintenance

 

  1. Click the Menu Sets tab.

  2. Select an enabled hierarchy Menu Set.

  3. Click Manage Hierarchy.

  4. Click the Mapped Items tab.

  5. Click the 3-Dot Menu next to the pathway that needs to be deleted.

  6. Click View.

  7. Hover over the Pathway.

  8. Click Delete.

  9. Click Confirm.

  10. Click Done.

     

 

Ignore Menu Item

Users can ignore menu items that do not need to be mapped to a pathway. For example, “No Ice” or “No Tongs.”

Begin by navigating:

Maintenance > Product > Menu Maintenance

 

  1. Click the Menu Sets tab.

  2. Select an enabled hierarchy Menu Set.

  3. Click Manage Hierarchy.

  4. Click the Unmapped Paths tab.

  5. Click on a POS Menu Item.

  6. Click Ignore.
