Android: Updating Manager's Toolbox Mobile Application

Get the latest version of the Decision Logic Mobile Toolbox from the Google Play Store.

Auto Update Decision Logic app from the Google Play store

You can update apps or allow apps to be updated automatically on your Android device.

  • Open the 

     Google Play Store app.

  • Touch the

      Play Store icon > My Apps to view your downloaded apps. Apps with available updates are labeled "Update."

  • Select individual apps to update or touch Update all to download all available updates.

Tip: In some cases, you may need to restart your device to update an app.

Automatically update apps

  • Open the 

     Google Play Store app.

  • Touch the 

     Play Store icon > My Apps to view your downloaded apps.

  • Apps with available updates are labeled "Update."

  • Select the app you want to update.

  • Touch  Menu >  Check the box next to "Auto-update" (depending on your device, your Menu icon may look different).

    • When the Auto-update box is selected, the app will update automatically when updates are available.

    • To turn off automatic updates and manually approve updates,  uncheck the box next to "Auto-update.”

Automatically update apps using Wi-Fi only (not using 4G/5G)

  • If you have a mobile data (3G/4G) plan, you can choose to automatically update apps over Wi-Fi only.

  • Updating apps on Wi-Fi can help lower your mobile data usage on your device.

    • Open the 

       Google Play Store app.

    • Touch the 

       Play Store icon > Settings.

    • Under "General," select Auto-update apps.

    • Select Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi only.

  • Make sure your device is set up to use a Wi-Fi connection by visiting Settings > Wi-Fi on your device.

  • On My Apps, you can also touch "Update All" to download available updates for apps that you’ve downloaded. If prompted when downloading an app, you can also select OK to update an app automatically when on Wi-Fi.

Decision Logic mobile toolkit requires the latest Android Operating system.

If an update is available for your phone or tablet, in general, you'll receive a notification.

  • How to check if your Android device is up to date

  • Before you update your device, check which version of Android you are running.

  • You might already be on the latest version. Here are two ways to check:

    • Settings > System > about > Android version

    • Settings > System >Software information > Android version

 

  • How to update your Android smartphone or tablet

  • As a precautionary measure, it's good practice to back up your data, such as contacts and photos.

  • The upgrade should not affect your data, but there is no guarantee.

  • Navigate to the Setting menu of your device.

  • On most Android devices, this can be done via the app menu or notification bar.

  • Typically the Setting app will have a cog

    or spanner logo.

  •  Scroll down the Settings menu and click ‘About Phone' or 'About Tablet.’

 

  • If you have a tabbed settings menu then this will appear in the 'general' section.

  • The menu can vary slightly from device to device but click the 'Software Update' or similar button.

  • This section of the menu will also detail which version of Android your device is running.

 

  • Your phone or tablet will now search for an available update.

  • If you are taken to another menu, select the 'Software update check' button or similar.

  • If an update is available on your device, then you will be asked whether you wish to install it.

  • If you select yes, then the system will download and install the new software and reboot.

Note: your device may require a Wi-Fi connection to search for an update.

  • We recommend downloading the software over Wi-Fi because the file size can be large.

  • Select Automatic check to ensure you are always running the current software.
