How do I create, edit, or delete Blackout Dates?

This article guides managers on how to set up Blackout Dates for Labor Scheduling on Decision Logic’s platform.

Overview

A Blackout Date is any date or a range of dates that employees are not allowed to request off. Decision Logic does not permit employees from submitting a time off request when a Blackout Date is scheduled. Managers will need to approve or deny all employee requests. Employees submit requests through the Employee Central mobile application.

Create Blackout Date(s)

Blackout dates can be created for a full day or a range of dates. Begin by navigating to:

Operations > Labor Scheduling > Labor Setup

  1. Select a Store.

  2. Click the Blackout Dates tab.

  3. Click Add Blackout Date.

  4. Select a Date Range.

    1. Toggle All Day to set a Single Date and Time Range the employee is available to work by scrolling or typing in the time. Increments are defaulted by 15 minutes.

  5. Provide a Reason. The reason will appear on the Employee Central mobile app when an employee attempts to request off for that date.

  6. Click the Save.

The blackout date(s) will be shown in a list on the Labor Setup page on the Blackout Dates tab.

Blackout dates do not prevent employees from submitting a request for time off. Managers will need to deny the request for each blackout date.

Blackout Date Reasons will appear on the Employee Request page within the Time Off tab when an employee submits a request during the time the Blackout Date(s) is configured.
